Where do we humans come from?

Have you ever wondered where human beings come from?

Modern science teaches us that humans are an 'accident of nature', meaning that we happened by accident. Scientists teach a 'Theory of Evolution'. Evolution means that something grows and changes over time.

Scientists don't know how humans actually came into being. For thousands of years humans learnt that one God or some 'gods' created them. 

But a bit more than 150 years ago a western scientist published a book which explained a "Theory of Evolution". In this book he said that he thinks that maybe human beings are the result of "evolution". He wrote that he thinks that maybe life started because of a 'spark' that happened when some dust (matter) in the air came together. And that this 'spark' caused a tiny dead dustball to become alive in the form of a single living organism, which is called a "cell"... And that this cell then divided many times and each time it divided, it became more complicated and it developed different functions. In this way the first living organism came into being. 

Now, in the 21st Century, a bit more than half of western scientists accept this "Theory of Evolution" as if it were a fact. So they publish books to teach children in school and youth at university to accept this "theory" as the truth! This is a very 'unscientific' thing to do, because a "theory" is simply an idea, which must be proven to be accepted as truth. 

Because evolution is an unproven theory, the rest of western scientists actually still believes that God created human beings, based on what the Bible teaches, while people from other cultures also believe that different supernatural beings created humans, based on old written documents or because they learnt from stories which their parents or grandparents told them.

For instance, there are some really old clay tablets, called the "Sumerian Tablets" found by archaeologists over the past 100 to 150 years, in an area known in the past as "Sumeria". Sumeria used to be in an area also known historically as "Mesopotamia". This part of the world is now called "Iraq" and another part is now called "Syria". The tablets tell a story of where human beings come from. Some of the parts of this story remind us of the story of creation in the Bible, but other parts are very different!

This story is interesting, but the Bible teaches us that we must not believe anything that explains something, that is different from what is written in the Bible, because only the Bible shares the real TRUTH about any subject covered in the Bible.

It is very important to decide which 'story' to accept: the 'theory of evolution', the Biblical account of how God created the world and made human beings or another story of who created human beings.

Why is this so important?

Because whatever you decide to believe, will shape your worldview: the way you see the world! 

And the way you see the world will shape all the decisions you make in your life - meaning your worldview will shape your whole life!

Just one last thing: the Bible teaches us to talk to God, in the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and to ask for everything we need. Why don't you ask our Father in Heaven, in the Name of his Son Jesus Christ, to send the Holy Spirit into you, so that he will give you a clear answer to every question that you have. Then see what happens!
