Who has made 'life'?

Do you know who has made our world, the universe and everything that lives in it?

Have you ever heard about the Bible?

The Bible is a very old book. It teaches us everything about life. It also teaches us about what happens at the end of our life, when we die.

The Bible teaches us that God has made everything that is living or 'alive'*!

Who is God?

The Bible teaches us that God is our "Creator" - the one who has made Heaven and Earth and everything else in the universe.

So the Bible teaches us that God has made everything that is living or 'alive'!

This is not what modern science teaches us. But it is what people living before us for thousands of years have known and believed. 

Although modern scientists insist that the Earth was created by 'spontaneous combustion' (a sudden explosion), this is a theory which has not been proven, but many universities write about it as if it is a fact.

The Bible also explains that "God" is 'spirit'. Do you know what being a 'spirit' means?

Being a 'spirit' means not having a physical presence. 

Do you understand what that means? It means that you can't touch a spirit, like you can touch a 'thing'. 

We also speak about a 'material' thing - which has a physical body.  And a 'spiritual' thing - which is not made of any material - almost like an idea or thought! You have an idea in your head, and you know what it looks like, but you can't touch it in 'real' life.

Another way of trying to understand 'spiritual' things is through our imagination. Do you know what your imagination is?

The word 'imagination' comes from the word 'image' - which means 'picture'. We humans don't only have eyes to see - we also have eyes in our mind which can see ideas! These eyes we call our 'imagination', because we can ask our brain to create an 'image' - or a 'picture' in our mind to see something in our head, while our 'real' eyes are closed!

Image: Look at this picture - it is trying to explain the difference between the "material" world and the "spiritual" world. This place does not exist in real life - it is something we can imagine. Our imagination helps us to 'see' into the spiritual world.

Our imagination helps us to 'see' things in our mind, but it also helps us to 'see' into the spiritual world.

A spirit can also be explained through the example of 'wind'. You can feel the wind blow, you can see the leaves and branches of a tree move when the wind is blowing... but you can't see the wind!

Image: You can see the leaves or branches of a tree moving in the wind, but you can't SEE the wind! That is another way to understand how things in the 'spiritual world' work: You know they are there, but you can't TOUCH them.

Do you now understand the difference between something that is in the 'material' world - which is made of 'matter' - and can be touched by your hand and something that is in the 'spiritual' world - which is not made of 'matter' - so it cannot be touched by your hand?

Sometimes we use the word 'dimension' to describe that there are different realities all alive and active at the same time: the physical dimension (the things we can touch and see with our 'natural' eyes) and the spiritual dimension (the things we can touch, but we can see with our 'spiritual' eyes). Then we also have the 'imaginary' dimension: these are pictures that we see in our mind.
